June Benjamin is a committed human rights and immigration attorney, bringing extensive experience to her work in advocating for marginalized communities. Previously, she served as an immigration attorney at Impact Legal Group, PLLC, where she represented clients in domestic immigration courts, specializing in cultural and gender-specific legal assistance for victims of human rights abuses. A former refugee from the Liberian Civil War, June’s personal journey fuels her passion for defending the rights of women and children in conflict zones. She earned her Juris Doctor and a Master of Arts in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University, where her work in the International Human Rights Law Clinic earned her the Dean’s Award for Professional Responsibility. June has also represented the War Crimes Research Office in the ICC Moot Court and participated in the Washington Working Group on the International Criminal Court. June has provided advocacy and legal expertise in international forums and tribunals. She has served as a Visiting Scholar at the Bahá’í Chair for World Peace at the University of Maryland, where she is co-publishing a book focused on transcending barriers to global peace. Her work continues to bridge the gap between law, human rights, and community advocacy, driving change on the most critical issues affecting vulnerable populations.
