Born and raised in Puerto Rico. Mairym is admitted to the State Bar of Puerto Rico and Florida. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico in 2006. She worked as a teacher for 9 years. In 2010 she decided to pursue her dream of being a lawyer and began studying her Juris Doctor at the same time she worked as a teacher. In 2014 she graduated with honors from the School of Law of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Puerto and in 2018 she obtained a Master’s Degree in Litigation and Mediation from the School of Law of the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico. In 2015 she founded her firm in Puerto Rico, Medina Sanchez Law Office, where she excelled as a Civil Lawyer.
In 2019, Mairym decided to move with her family to the state of Florida and since 2019 she has been living in California. Her passion for immigration law began upon moving to Florida when she had to face the setbacks of beginning a life away from her extended family and in a new place with a different culture. Despite being a citizen of the United States, Mairym had to face the limitations of language and the change in culture. It was at that moment that she felt empathy for people who not only have to deal with the language, being away from family and culture, but also with the complexities of immigration law. Preparing to excel as an immigration attorney and helping the country’s immigrant population became her new passion, and since then she has ensured that each of her clients feel supported, confident and educated in their processes before the immigration court or the USCIS. . Mairym has had the opportunity to work as an immigration attorney in non-profit organizations and private firms. She has practiced as an immigration attorney since 2019 offering her clients enthusiastic and zealous representation in the immigration courts and USCIS. Ella Mairym feels very fortunate to be able to communicate with her Latin clients in her native language, giving them peace of mind and security in the process.
