Joshua was born and raised in Sacramento, California. Following a stellar high school career, he was awarded a scholarship and played quarterback at Division 1 Western Illinois University. At Western Illinois, he was a four year starter and earned a Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Law Enforcement Justice Administration. Upon graduation, Joshua returned to his roots in Northern California to attend the esteemed McGeorge Law School at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. There, he immersed himself in legal studies and earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) with a specialization in Trial Advocacy. It was during his time at McGeorge that Joshua found his true calling, earning a coveted spot on McGeorge’s nationally top 10 ranked Mock Trial Team and igniting his passion for courtroom advocacy.
Joshua dedicated his law school tenure to interning at the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, where he gained invaluable experience and solidified his career path. In 2017, armed with his legal acumen, he joined the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office Misdemeanor Trial Unit, launching his career as a prosecutor. Joshua relocated to Texas in 2018, where he assumed the role of Assistant District Attorney in the Misdemeanor Division at the Denton County District Attorney’s Office. During his tenure, he sharpened his expertise in criminal law, boasting a flawless trial victory record Joshua maintained a 100% trial record as a prosecutor while handling a diverse array of cases.
In 2019, Joshua made the switch to criminal defense. His transition from prosecutor to defense attorney equipped him with a unique perspective and a formidable skill set. With a proactive and aggressive approach, Joshua advocates tirelessly for his clients, navigating negotiations and courtroom battles with great success. A proven trial attorney, as a defense attorney Joshua has continued to demonstrate his outstanding courtroom presence and rapport with juries with successful trial results trying cases ranging from misdemeanors to major felonies where clients faced life sentences.

Additionally, he has received the Nationally Ranked Top Ten Attorney Award in 2022 and 2023 from the National Academy of Criminal Defense Association.
