In 2011, Sanger graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. From 2012 to 2014, he served for two years in the United States Peace Corps in Costa Rica as a youth development volunteer. These two years were particularly formative for Sanger. After Peace Corps service, Sanger realized a law degree could be a powerful tool in continuing to work to help others at a very community level. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School and, during his time in law school, participated in the Immigrant Justice Clinic where he affirmed his passion for immigration law. There, he and his clinic partner worked to successfully obtain a grant of asylum for their client who was in removal proceedings before an immigration judge. Additionally, during law school, Sanger interned at Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project and worked for a small immigration law firm for over two years as a law clerk. As an associate immigration attorney at the Matian Firm, Sanger is excited to be working with such a knowledgeable and dedicated team of advocates for the immigrant community.
