Mercedes Serrano is a proud immigrant from Mexico with a passion to help fellow immigrants. She decided in high school that she was to become an immigration attorney and pursued this dream. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with Summa Cum Laude Honors from California State University, Dominguez Hills. She then went on to law school and obtained her Juris Doctorate Degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, with a concentration in Immigration Justice. While at Loyola Law School, she participated in the Immigrant Justice Clinic and worked for a small immigration firm. She is thankful for her past experience in immigration, which now has expanded and provided her a solid base for her role as one of the immigration associate attorneys at La Liga Defensora.
