Jiménez is originally from Medellín, Colombia and since he was a child he came to the United States. Mr. Jimenez has always been drawn to immigration issues because he witnessed his family endure the anxiety and expense that coincides with the path to acquiring legal status in the United States. Attorney Jimenez through his dedication graduated from Barry University School of Law and tailored his professional resume to assist him with his eventual practice focus in criminal and immigration law.

While in law school, Mauricio Jiménez had the honor of interning at the Crown Prosecution Service in London, England, where he worked alongside Prosecutors and distinguished lawyers on cases involving murder, rape, misdemeanors, extradition, among others. Jiménez also did an internship at DHS or Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Immigration Control (ICE), located in Orlando, where with all professionalism, together with the Assistant General Counsel, he worked on asylum cases, avoid deportations, immigration bonds, Presentations N-600 and written appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals.

Mauricio Jiménez has continued to excel professionally and legally defend in immigration court, US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and Enforcement and Removal Operations. His great professionalism in immigration and criminal cases has enabled him to reduce the issues that interfere with successfully defending clients in criminal matters by advocating for provisions that negate or reduce specific immigration consequences.

Jiménez relies heavily on the history of his respected family to fuel his strong and effective defense of immigrants. He is an attorney who is happy and proud to perform diligently and effectively to achieve the best results.
