Leticia is a lawyer born in Mexico. Her great passion for immigration law came from her personal experience navigating the legal system at a young age. She came to the United States at the age of four and became an American citizen at twenty-two. Since she began the process required to obtain her permanent residence, she knew that her professional goal would be to help others who, like her, have the difficult task of going through the complex field of immigration law.
Leticia decided to pursue law school while doing a JusticeCorps internship at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse as a student at UCLA. During her internship, Leticia recognized that the Latino community was not well represented in the legal field and she was encouraged to change this situation.
Leticia continues to work effectively with disadvantaged Latino communities since her first year when she was studying law. After going through the Bar Association and becoming a licensed attorney, Leticia’s goal has always been to make the legal process easier for immigrants like her.
