George Rosenstock received his Bachelor of Science (Major Mathematics) from the City College of New York (1971) and Juris Doctor Degree from the Case Western Reserve University Law School (1974) where he was a member of the winning National Moot Court Team and published in the Law Review (1975).   He joined the Kings County District Attorney’s Office (Brooklyn, N.Y.)  as an Assistant District Attorney (1978) and then Senior Assistant District Attorney rising to the Homicide Bureau, first chairing approximately 50 jury trials as prosecutor.  From the Kings County DA’s Office he joined the United States Justice Department as Special Attorney (1985) attached to the Organized Crime Strike Force in Los Angeles where he joined with colleagues to investigate and try a Criminal RICO trial in the Central District of California targeting loan sharking rings in Southern California. After a stint in private practice with the major law firm of Pillsbury Madison & Sutro in the Business Litigation and Creditors Rights Sections he returned to public service by joining the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office where he remained from 1995 to 2000, again first chairing approximately 50 jury trials as prosecutor.  After a second stint in private practice he returned to criminal law as a criminal defense attorney, joining The Matian Firm in March 2017 where he has assumed the title of Chief Attorney.  He has also published a series of articles in the Los Angeles Daily Journal (see, e.g., “Reevalutate the use of ‘package deal’ plea bargains in California”, June 6, 2018; “U Visa application status and compliance with Brady”, July 5, 2018).  He is married with one son.
